From our humble beginnings in 1968 as a 2-person shop, Hollywood Woodwork has grown into one of the nation’s premier millwork and casework company. Our team of over 150 employee-owners includes estimators, project managers, interior designers, architects, engineers, drafters, master craftsman, installation carpenters and foreman; all dedicated to the success and complete satisfaction of our clients.
By investing ourselves in our relationships with both suppliers and customers, we build partnerships that deliver beyond what is asked. Integrity is our foundation and the standard by which we work. Yves DesMarais, Chairman & CEO, moved from Quebec, Canada in 1969 to start Hollywood Woodwork with his family. He obtained a degree in Accounting and Masters of Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University. As CEO of Hollywood Woodwork since 1974, he has navigated the company from a small local shop to a recognized provider of fine architectural woodwork nationally and throughout the Caribbean. His focus is on strategic direction, relationship development and fiscal oversight of the company. Yves and his partners sold 30% of the company ownership to the Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) in 1999, officially making Hollywood Woodwork an employee-owned company, with a goal of eventually becoming 100% employee-owned. He served ten years on the board of the Tropical Forest Foundation and served as National President of the Architectural Woodwork Institute in 1994-1995.
President
Sebastien DesMarais, President, graduated from the University of Florida with majors in Computer Engineering and Finance. He spent 6 years with General Electric, where he worked in Information Technology and Corporate Finance both in the United States and globally. He joined Hollywood Woodwork in 2010 and shortly thereafter became the Company's Chief Financial Officer. In 2015 Sebastien became Hollywood Woodwork's 4th President, with overall oversight over company Financial, Sales, and Operations. Sebastien coordinates with Hollywood Woodwork's Senior Leadership Team to ensure that resources are available as needed to conduct our operations and to lead the company's strategic direction. Sebastien also serves on the Board of Directors for the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) and is serving as their President and Chairman of the AWI Board in 2021.
VP, Projects & Field Operations
Drake Barber has been in the industry for 35 years, with 25 of those years involved in the management of projects and field operations. He has been with Hollywood Woodwork for over 15 years, and in 2015 was promoted to Vice President, with a focus on our Field Operations. Drake is also the Project Executive for our retail clients, specializing in delivering complete packages from initial design to completed installation. He is distinguished by his willingness to go above and beyond for our clients to ensure that their needs are always met and exceeded.
VP, Director of Manufacturing
Brian Chamberland, Vice President and Director of Manufacturing, has spent his entire career of 31 years at Hollywood Woodwork, holding the position of Production Manager for 20 years. Utilizing best practices from the industry coupled with his own experience he focuses on consistent production of quality products with on-time delivery.
Director of Engineering
Ruben Ortiz joined Hollywood Woodwork in 2005. During his 16 years with the company, he has held positions as Lead Engineer, IT Manager, Operations Engineer and is now Director of Engineering. Ruben has a strong passion for technology and working with teams to accomplish goals, projects, and improvements. He and his team are focused on helping clients by providing shop drawings that coordinate with all other trades interacting with the millwork scope that are easy to understand and interpret, saving valuable time during the duration of the project. In 2017 Ruben was part of the AWI Tech task force delivering relevant webinars connecting technology with the woodworking industry and Executive Forums for woodworkers.
Director of Finance/Controller
Janice Oliva is the Director of Finance & Accounting. She holds a B.S. in Accounting as well as an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management. Over the past 10 years, Janice has developed her skills across a spectrum of construction financial areas, including accounting & controllership, contract & risk management, and corporate finance. Her goals are to provide integrity and insight to ensure the financial health and growth of the organization, and her passion is to foster growth and development of herself, her team, and the industry. Janice continues to develop upon her skillset within the construction industry by serving on the Board of Directors for the CFMA South Florida Chapter.
HR Manager
Gina Rodriguez, Human Resources Manager, graduated with a B.S. in Clinical Psychology from the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Urena, Dominican Republic, and a M.S. in Forensic Psychology from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas, Madrid, Spain. Gina joined the Hollywood Woodwork team in 2013, and during that time acquired her SHRM-CP certification and a Human Resources Management certification from Florida Atlantic University. As Human Resources Manager, Gina aims to provide a safe and pleasant work environment for all Hollywood Woodwork's team members. She enjoys seeing people fulfilled in their work and happy to be here! Gina also serves as Chair of our ESOP Committee and member of our Events Planning Committee.
Director of Estimating
Andres Aristizabal, Director of Estimating, began his career16 years ago as an Intern for Hollywood Woodwork where he worked his way up to Director of Estimating in 2020. He and his team focus on providing a consultative approach to pre-construction teams with value engineering that meet the design intent and budget of the project, thorough risk analysis, material selections, millwork constructability and code requirements. Andres also serves as member of Hollywood Woodwork’s Senior Leadership Team and ESOP committee, and lead company’s latest ERP system implementation.
Business Development Manager
Michael Bastos is the Business Development Manager at Hollywood Woodwork, responsible for overseeing customer relations and forging new relationships while maintaining current ones, helping to develop the future growth of the company. His win-win approach ensures success for both client and company. He first started in the construction industry over 30 years ago as a union carpenter with 20 of those years in the field as a Journeyman Carpenter. He later took that knowledge to the areas of Job Site Management and Business Development and has also joined the Architectural Woodworking Institutes (AWI) Speakers Bureau. Having recently relocated from the frozen tundras of Minnesota, when Michael isn’t working, he can be found underwater scuba diving in the warm South Florida ocean he now calls home.
